Live view
Live view shows who is on your store right now: how many people, where they are, what they're looking at, and how far they've got towards ordering. Use it during a sale, an ad campaign or a social media post to see the effect as it happens.
On your home page
The Live card on the home page shows the number of visitors right now, with a small chart of the last 30 minutes. A visitor counts when they've had your store open in the last 5 minutes. Someone with several tabs open counts once.
Underneath, the card splits them into those browsing, those with a cart, and those checking out. View live opens the full live view.
The live view
Open it from the home card, or from Analytics → Live View in the sidebar. It updates by itself, so there is nothing to refresh. If the connection drops, it shows how many seconds ago it last updated and reconnects on its own.
Today so far
Total sales, Sessions and Orders for today, each compared with yesterday up to the same time of day.
The globe and the map
Visitors appear as points on a globe, by the location of their internet connection. Explore map opens a full-screen map you can zoom into city level. Locations come from the visitor's IP address (using DB-IP), so treat them as approximate, especially on mobile networks.
Shopping right now
A live funnel of the people on your store:
| Stage | |
|---|---|
| On the store | Everyone counted right now |
| Viewed a product | Has opened a product page |
| Added to cart | Has something in their cart |
| Checking out | Is on the checkout |
Ordered in the last 10 minutes shows recent orders beside the funnel.
Breakdowns
- Top locations, Countries and Devices of the people on the store. Show on the map jumps to a location.
- Pages being viewed and Top products being looked at right now.
- Where they came from: the traffic source of each visit, such as Facebook, Instagram, Google or Direct.
Visits in progress
A list of individual visits, each showing the visitor's device, country, source, current page, cart, time on site and stage (Browsing, Viewing a product, With a cart or Checking out). Visitors are anonymous. The list never shows names, emails or phone numbers.
Don't count your own visits
You, your staff and anyone testing the store would otherwise show up as visitors. On each device you use, open the live view and press Don't count this browser. That browser is then left out of live visitors.
Visits from the theme editor and theme previews are never counted.
