Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity is a free tool that records how shoppers use your store: session recordings, heatmaps, rage clicks and dead clicks. The Microsoft Clarity app adds Clarity to your store without editing your theme. You watch the recordings in Clarity itself.

Connect it

1. Create a free project at clarity.microsoft.com for your store's address.
2. In Eekaam, install Microsoft Clarity from Apps and open it.
3. Paste your Project ID, or the whole tracking code Clarity shows you. Eekaam picks the ID out of it.
4. Save.

The app shows Recording on your store once it is working. New sessions appear in Clarity within about 2 hours. Open Clarity recordings goes straight to your project. Change project swaps to another one.

What is recorded

• Every storefront page except checkout and account pages. Those are never recorded, so payment details and addresses stay out of Clarity.
• Shoppers in regions that require cookie consent, such as Europe, are recorded only after they accept cookies.

What to look for

• Rage clicks: shoppers clicking the same spot again and again, often on something that looks like a button but isn't.
• Dead clicks: clicks that do nothing.
• Scroll heatmaps on product pages: how far down shoppers get. Move important details, such as price, delivery and the order button, above that point.
• Recordings of abandoned carts: watch a few sessions that reached the cart and left.
