Adding products

Products → Add product in your Eekaam admin.

The fields that matter

Title and description. The title is what shows on the storefront and in search results. The description supports rich text, images and video.

Media. The first image is the one used on collection pages and in search. Shoppers judge a product on it before they read anything.

Price. Set the price, and optionally a compare-at price — the higher, struck-through number. Only use it for a price the product genuinely sold at.

Inventory. A SKU is your own code for the item; a barcode is a global one. Turn on inventory tracking and Eekaam decrements stock as orders come in and stops overselling.

Status. Draft is invisible to shoppers. Active is live. New products default to draft so a half-finished one never appears in the shop.

Organisation. Tags and collections are how customers find things. A product can belong to any number of collections.

SEO. The page title and description shown in search results. Leave them blank and Eekaam uses the product title and the start of the description.

Variants

A product with options — size, colour, material — becomes several variants. Add up to three option names, list their values, and Eekaam generates every combination. Each variant carries its own price, SKU, barcode and stock level.

Set the options before you start editing individual variants; changing them afterwards regenerates the list.

Importing instead of typing

Products → Import takes a CSV using the same column names Eekaam exports, which are the same ones Shopify uses. A file exported from Shopify usually imports without editing.

The importer matches on Handle. A row whose handle already exists updates that product rather than creating a second one, which is what makes a CSV re-import safe to re-run.

Collections

Collections group products for browsing. A manual collection is a list you curate. An automated one has conditions — tag, price, stock — and products join and leave it on their own as they match.
