Setting up your store

Setting up your store

Everything below happens in your Eekaam admin. A new store is usable in about ten minutes; the parts that take longer — a custom domain, a payment provider — can be done after you have products in.

1. Finish the signup wizard

Signing up asks four questions: what you sell, what kind of business you are, roughly how many products you have, and your phone number. The answers pick your starting plan and pre-fill a few defaults. None of them are permanent.

You land on a store with a live theme, a sample catalogue and a .myeekaam.com address. It is already a working shop — everything after this is replacing the defaults with your own.

2. Store details

Settings → General. Set the store name, the contact email customers see, the address used on invoices, and your currency and timezone. Currency is worth getting right early: it is what prices are entered and reported in.

3. Add your products

Products → Add product. See Adding products for the fields and how variants work. If you are moving from another platform, import a CSV instead of typing them in — the importer reads the same column names Shopify exports, so an existing file usually works unchanged.

4. Choose a theme

Online Store → Themes shows the theme you have. The theme store has the rest. Install one, preview it against your real products, and publish when it looks right — the live theme only changes when you publish.

Then customise it: see Editing your theme.

5. Take payment

Settings → Payments. Connect your own processor — JazzCash, AssanPay or Stripe — with your own merchant credentials. Money settles directly to you; Eekaam never holds it.

Two steps, and the second is the one people miss: save the credentials, then switch the provider on at checkout and press Save. A connected provider is not visible to shoppers until you do.

Full instructions per provider: Connecting a payment provider.

6. Set up shipping

Settings → Shipping. Define the rates customers see at checkout. If you sell in more than one country, Markets lets you set per-market currencies, prices and shipping.

7. Connect your domain

Settings → Domains. Add a domain you own and follow the DNS instructions shown there. Your .myeekaam.com address keeps working, so nothing breaks while DNS propagates.

8. Before you launch

  • Place a test order end to end, including payment.
  • Check the storefront on a phone.
  • Confirm order confirmation emails arrive — Settings → Notifications.
  • Add your policies: refund, privacy, terms. Customers and payment providers both look for them.

Adding your team

Settings → Users invites staff. Permissions are per-role, so a shop assistant can process orders without reaching billing or payment credentials. Create the role first under Settings → Users → Roles, then invite against it. See Staff and permissions.
